File checklist

Get a clean print every time

  • 14″ wide × 16″ tall at 300 dpi (4200 × 4800 pixels)
  • PNG with a transparent background — no white boxes behind designs
  • Upload designs right-reading (not mirrored)
  • Leave about ¼″ between designs and from the edges so they’re easy to cut
  • Avoid lines thinner than about 1 pt and tiny text under 6 pt
  • Semi-transparent pixels and soft shadows print as faint dots — flatten or remove them
  • Ordering several sheets? Send one file per sheet, or a Google Drive / Dropbox folder link

Pressing & care

At-home heat press basics

  • Press instructions come with every order — follow the card in your package
  • Typical settings: around 300–320°F, 10–15 seconds, medium-firm pressure
  • Pre-press the garment a few seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles
  • Peel the film, then re-press for a few seconds with a cover sheet for extra durability
  • Care: wait 24 hours, wash inside out in cold water, tumble dry low, no fabric softener

New to pressing? Order a single $9 test sheet first and dial in your press before a big run.

Questions

DTF FAQ

What is DTF?

Direct-to-Film: your design is printed on a clear film with white ink underneath, coated with adhesive powder and cured. You heat-press it onto fabric. It gives full-color results on light and dark garments without weeding vinyl.

What size are the sheets?

Every sheet is 14″ wide × 16″ tall (224 square inches). That fits one full-front design up to about 13″ × 15″, or a mix of smaller designs like left-chest logos, sleeve prints and kids’ sizes.

How is DTF priced?

By area: 4¢ per square inch, which is $9 for one 14″ × 16″ sheet. Packs bring the price down: 5 sheets $40 ($8 each), 10 sheets $70 ($7 each), 25 sheets $150 ($6 each). Rush adds $10 per order.

DTF vs. vinyl (HTV) vs. sublimation?

HTV is great for simple one- or two-color text but needs cutting and weeding. Sublimation only works on light polyester. DTF handles full-color art on cotton, polyester and blends, light or dark, with no weeding.

Is there a minimum order?

No. Order a single 14″ × 16″ sheet if you want to test a design or your press settings.

Can you build my sheets for me?

Yes. Upload your individual designs (or a link to a folder), tell us the sizes and quantities in the Notes box, and we’ll lay out the sheets. We’ll contact you if we have questions before printing.

How fast will I get it?

Standard turnaround is confirmed by email when your order is approved. Need it sooner? Choose ⚡ Rush and we move your sheets to the front of the queue and confirm your ready time.
